On a pregnancy

... I don't know the girl, it's none of my business, the girl should not be exposed to the press attention she is going to get ...

she's getting the attention because her mother has accepted the nomination for vice president ...

her mother must have known the daughter was going to get the attention and has deliberately sacrificed her daughter (and the unborn child) because of her political ambitions ...

ermmmmm

Morality?

And what of John McCain? Did he know and also tacitly accept the public sacrifice of the child?

Is it not a bit hypocritical to consider oneself progressive and a liberal yet judge a female candidate in terms of your presumptions of what motherhood should look like? Let's consider the issues. Whether we agree with her or not (which by the way, I do not) it is quite admirable and refreshing to see and hear from a candidate who has not been afraid to put herself out there for the world to scrutinize. Let's not be patronizing. Instead, let's assume that her daughter is proud of her mother's accomplishments and would rather see her try that hide. After all, as a governor Palin's daughter would be under scrutiny anyways and isn't sad how judgmental liberals can be. sad that

Hey ... no statement at all on my part as to the issue of 'motherhood' - too many bastards in my own family too to take any view other than positive on that either.
Public scrutiny - in Alaska (population?) and public scrutiny in the world (slightly larger population).
Let's not assume that the unborn baby has given any vote in the matter, nor that the timing of the 'release' of the information during a major hurricane was indicative of 'full attention and scrutiny'.
Let's rather assume that the naked ambition of the woman knows no bounds nor automatically rejects any sacrifice. She is representing the republicans on issues which include several 'family values' issues which she doesn't seem to live up to.
Just because she is a woman it doesn't give her any moral high ground ... the same arguments would apply to a man - I DID say, and it DID mean - what about McCain: He is even more guilty than the woman.

Whoops - forgot: Don't call me Liberal - I'm much further left than that; and yes, at a time when someone is putting themself up for election, I will be 'judgmental', after all, they are asking to be judged!
